Update about Manitoba Deaf Golf Club (MDGC) 1st Annual Fall Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 13th!

On September 13, 30+ people attended 1st Annual Fall ‎Golf Tournament host by MB Deaf Golf Club. There were prizes for "Best Ball" scores, longest drive, straightest drive, closest to hole, longest putt, and ball in water. After the game, we had putting contest, rainbow auction, and dinner. We had a great time with the weather cooperating.

It was held @ The Meadows Golf and also thank you to Cheryl Broszeit as photographer/ assistant's event coordinator, Joe Comte helping w/ auction, Terri Silvius Antoniw for golfers' kits and Andrew Thompson for Advertisement.

Manitoba School for the Deaf (MSD) Fundraising event!

Dear Deaf Community,
We are excited to announce that the Manitoba School for the Deaf (MSD) has chosen to fundraise with Mom’s Pantry! All money raised will go towards our students and providing them with opportunities they may otherwise never get. Your support will go a long way in helping us reach our goals.
Orders can be taken from friends, neighbours, community members and relatives. You can assist greatly by taking orders at your place of employment, social or sports clubs. It is with your effort and commitment that we will be able to reach our fundraising goal.
A.        Place order online at www.momspantry.ca
1.     Go to the ONLINE ORDERING BOX at the top right hand corner of the website.
2.     If this is your first time online ordering with Mom’s Pantry then you will need to click on CREATE NEW ACCOUNT in order to register yourself as an individual customer. It will ask for your name, address, email etc. and for a personal password that you create. Click on SIGNUP.
3.     Once you have successfully registered then go back to the ONLINE ORDERING BOX and type in your email and the password you created and press LOGIN.
4.     Choose the FUNDRAISING ORDER option.
5.     When the pop up box appears to login to the fundraising order, enter your ORDER NUMBER & GROUP PASSCODE found here:
Order Number: 126529             Group Passcode: 32024
6.     Place your order and checkout. You must complete the entire process (including payment) for your order to be processed.  Online orders are paid for by credit/debit card at time of ordering.
7.     Please contact Mar: mkoskie@msd.ca to inform him of your order so he can sort packages more effectively.
8.     Print your receipt for your records. Orders may be picked up at the Manitoba School for the Deaf during the day between November 3rd – 7th. Orders must be placed by Thursday, October 9th, 2014.

Update from Alice Crawford about Wild Type show!

Hi Everyone,

LAST TWO DAYS! 

Wild Type! art show has two good days left at Gallery Lacosse, today and tomorrow at Gallery Lacosse, 169 Lilac Street.. Friday until 5:30 pm and Saturday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.

THIS WEEKEND - PEMBINA VALLEY STUDIO TOUR

In a few hours, I will be spending time in a 100 year old schoolhouse converted into an artist's studio to be surrounded by art and meeting lots of people!

I am the guest artist for Susan Crawford-Young of Manitou for the 10th Annual Pembina Valley Studio Tour 2014. 
 We are at A2/3 near Manitou on the map at this link.

Manitoba Theatre Centre ( MTC) will have upcoming ASL -interpreted performance- Armstrong's War!

Hello everyone,

I want to let you know about an upcoming ASL-interpreted performance at Royal MTC’s Tom Hendry Warehouse Theatre:

ARMSTRONG’S WAR by Colleen Murphy

Corporal Michael Armstrong is recuperating in a rehab hospital when he’s ambushed by an optimistic 12-year-old Girl Guide in a wheelchair. Halley’s mission is to earn her Community Service badge by reading to a wounded soldier. In spite of himself, Michael becomes engaged in their sessions. When he gets up the courage to share an explosive story from his time in Afghanistan, the unlikely allies show each other how to stand tall.


MTC will provide ASL interpretation on Thursday, November 13 at 7:30 pmTickets must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.
