- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, dual diagnosis, and/or behaviour problems.
- Fluency in American Sign Language is required.
- Current First Aid Certificate and a current Driver’s Abstract and valid Driver’s License.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and a related human service certificate would be considered assets.
- Candidates should be knowledgeable of and sensitive to Deaf culture

SUPPORT WORKER/DEVELOPMENTAL TREATMENT WORKER
D.R.E.A.&M. Program – A.S.L. Immersion
Alternative Solutions requires a full time Support Worker/Developmental Treatment Worker to support male and female individuals with intellectual disabilities in the community and facilities from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Duties include providing individualized day service supports and working as part of a team to enhance a variety of skills based on individual needs as well as managing situations with individuals who may exhibit potentially aggressive behaviours.

The salary range for a full-time Support Worker position is $26,909 to $37,683 and for a Developmental Treatment Worker the range is $30,384 to $42,539 per annum, based on a 40 hour work week, depending on education and experience. An excellent benefits package is offered to full time staff.
The successful candidates to the above positions will be subject to a Criminal Record and Child and Adult Abuse Registry checks.
